Security architectures for B3G mobile networks
نویسندگان
چکیده
The evolution and successful deployment of wireless LANs (WLANs) worldwide has yielded a demand to integrate them with third generation (3G) mobile networks. The key goal of this integration is to develop heterogeneous mobile data networks, named as beyond 3G (B3G) networks, capable of supporting ubiquitous computing. Currently, the network architecture (3rd Generation Partnership Project [3GPP] TS 23.234, 2006) that integrates 3G and WLAN specifies two different access scenarios: (1) the WLAN Direct IP Access and (2) the WLAN 3GPP IP Access. The first scenario provides to a user an IP connection to the public Internet or to an intranet via the WLAN access network AbstrAct

Quality of Service and Security as Frameworks toward Next-Generation Wireless Networks
This article aims to analyze quality of service (QoS) and security as frameworks toward next-generation wireless networks. QoS, security and mobility can be viewed as three different indispensable aspects in 4G networks. However all are related to networks nodes involving the controlling or the processing if IP packets for end-to-end flows between a mobile node (MN) and its corresponding node (...
متن کاملA UML 2.0 Profile for Architecting B3G Applications
B3G is an emerging network technology which conceives the convergence of telecommunication and IP-based networks for providing enhanced services able to transfer both voice and non-voice data through wired and wireless networks. Moreover, B3G networks can be no longer considered as “passive” entities which only transport data between endpoints, but they must be considered as “active” parties th...
متن کاملMultiple Access Technologies for Beyond 3G Wireless Cellular Systems
In this paper, some fundamental technical concepts of the main multiple access schemes for wireless mobile systems are reviewed, and a path for development of appropriate multiple access technologies for next-generation mobile networks, or so-called beyond 3G (B3G), is established. We first review the multiple access technologies in secondand third-generation wireless cellular systems from hist...
متن کاملVertical Handover in beyond Third Generation (B3G) Wireless Networks⋆
Currently, there are several wireless networks deployed around the world. Examples include cellular networks, metropolitan area networks, wireless local area networks, and personal area networks. The combination of all these networks is usually called the beyond 3G (B3G) wireless networks. New state-of-the-art mobile terminals will allow users to freely move and to switch connections among diff...
متن کاملA New Intrusion Detection System to deal with Black Hole Attacks in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks
By extending wireless networks and because of their different nature, some attacks appear in these networks which did not exist in wired networks. Security is a serious challenge for actual implementation in wireless networks. Due to lack of the fixed infrastructure and also because of security holes in routing protocols in mobile ad hoc networks, these networks are not protected against attack...
